Spring is sprung

We've had a lovely warm week here in Yorkshire and spring is well on the way. This painting is my impression of what the woods near Grosmont will look like in a couple of weeks (I couldn't wait).

First week back in the studio

The summer season has begun in Whitby allowing me to escape the gallery. To celebrate I've done a heavily textured painting. It's a style I'm really enjoying, it prevents me getting hung up on detail and forces me to concentrate on colour. The texture also adds another dimension that I fine almost hypnotic, unfortunately it's almost impossible to get a decent photo.
